The CMF Top 40 chart ranks music releases based on engagement activity from fans and visitors on the platform.
Chart positions are calculated using a points system that considers:
- Profile views
- Streaming link clicks
- Likes and favourites
- Shares
- Fan votes (the most heavily weighted activity)
Recent activity is weighted more heavily than older activity, so releases that are actively promoted and generating engagement will rank higher.
Charts are updated on a weekly basis. Your release needs to be published and approved to be eligible for chart positions.
The CMF TV Top 20
Alongside the Top 40 releases chart, CMF runs a separate weekly CMF TV Top 20 — a chart of the most-watched videos on CMF TV. It ranks videos by views rather than releases by engagement. See How does the CMF TV Top 20 chart work? for details.
To improve your chart position, encourage fans to vote for your releases on CMF.
